“We have used both a rotary and an auger for cutting our 1300 acres of alfalfa, but MacDon’s 972 draper header has been the best so far. We switched to the 972 Harvest Header because we have rock problems. With an auger, stones get in the auger and ding it, but with the 972 draper header this is not a problem. We also like its excellent conditioning and its C-shaped cutterbar, which lets us cut really short to the ground. The 972 is also much more operator friendly. It’s easier for the operator to see the whole header and the sickle bar, easier to change the guards, easier to grease. We’re sure liking the 972.”
